COMMUNICATE BETTER…
We all have an area that we know we can work on. Whether it’s being kinder, being more organized, listening, or time management, everyone has something. What’s my area? Well, it’s definitely effective communication.
My lack of communication or unhealthy communication has caused unnecessary tension and stress and usually unnecessary fear in my space.
As an introvert, I don’t speak up when I should and it’s a constant inner battle of when I should speak? Introverts, where you at?! Do you feel my pain?!
Well, that’s why this week’s Faith Plan With Me is dedicated to God’s Promises About Communication. There is no other way to get over your battles than to bring them to God.
TOOLS FOR THIS WEEK:
This week, I used a teaching from “Promises from God’s Word for Teachers”, my Faith Stickers and Colorful Boxes stickers from Mambi and my Ink Joy Gel Pen 0.7.
BEFORE THE PEN:
Before I write, I decorate and I find this process very therapeutic. I get to lay the stickers freely on the spread and be as creative as I would like.
WHAT DOES GOD SAY ABOUT COMMUNICATION?
A wise man’s heart guides his mouth, and his lips promote instruction. – Proverbs 16:23
Your skills as a communicator will have a profound impact on your career. The more quickly you learn how to communicate effectively, the more you will give your career an instant jumpstart.
God’s word reminds us that “reckless words pierce like a sword but the tongue of the wise brings healing.” Proverbs 12:18
Today make this promise to yourself: Vow to be an honest and effective communicator. Speak wisely and not impulsively. Use words of kindness and praise, not words of anger. Learn to be truthful without being cruel and remember that you have the power to heal or to hurt so use your power wisely.
Remember, when you learn how to lift others up, you’ll soon discover that you’ve lifted yourself up too.
